At CVMM, we are proud to have a dedicated and hardworking team of Board members and Samiti who tirelessly and unconditionally serve our community. Balancing their personal, professional, and social lives, they work passionately to preserve and promote Maharashtrian culture abroad. Through the celebration of Hindu festivals and vibrant cultural events, our team strives to pass on these cherished traditions to the next generation, fostering a strong sense of heritage and belonging.
Join us in keeping our roots alive and sharing the beauty of our culture with the world.
Our journey began in 2015 when a group of Maharashtrian families from Mountain House and Tracy came together, united by a shared love for our rich culture, food, and festivals. What started with just 10 families and a simple WhatsApp group soon blossomed into a vibrant community.
Our first major celebration was Diwali, a joyful gathering of about 100 people. The following year, we introduced Gudhi Padwa—two cornerstone events that have remained an integral part of our traditions ever since. As our community grew, so did our celebrations. We organized sports days, BBQ picnics, and hikes, creating lasting memories along the way.
A significant milestone came in 2024, when CVMM was officially registered as a nonprofit organization. That year, we hosted our largest-ever Ganapati festival in Mountain House, receiving an overwhelming response from all communities who came together to seek blessings from our beloved Ganapati Bappa—a true testament to the strength and spirit of our community.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are embracing new initiatives and collaborations with other organizations to bring exciting community programs and high-quality events to CVMM. We've already kicked off the year with a Makar Sankrant Haldi Kunku celebration, launched a Karaoke Club, and are thrilled to present upcoming musical programs and theatrical performances featuring talented artists from India.
Our story is still unfolding, and we invite you to be a part of this incredible journey—preserving our heritage, celebrating our culture, and building a stronger community together.
At CVMM, our mission is to unite Marathi-speaking Maharashtrians and those who share a love for our culture, creating a vibrant community where we cherish, preserve, and celebrate our rich heritage. Guided by the teachings of our Sant Samudaay and inspired by the visionary ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, we strive to keep our traditions alive—no matter how far we are from home.
We understand the longing for family and familiar festivities during special occasions, and so we work to recreate that sense of belonging by bringing the warmth, spirit, and joy of our cultural celebrations to life. Staying close to our roots, we aim to pass on these traditions to future generations, fostering a strong and connected community.
Join us as we honor our past, celebrate the present, and build a future rooted in culture and community.
